Rental KM Limits and Extra-Kilometre Charges Explained
A kilometre limit is the distance included in the rental price. Going beyond it can add charges, and some routes may still need owner or platform approval.
Calculate the charge
If a listing includes 100 km and charges ₹5 per extra kilometre, a 135 km trip adds 35 × ₹5, or ₹175, to the rental component.
For multi-day bookings, ask whether allowances combine across the term or reset each day.
Record the odometer
Photograph the reading at pickup and return and ensure both appear on the handover record. Report an instrument problem immediately.
Confirm how partial days, extensions and delayed returns affect both time and distance charges.
Compare quotes
Estimate the whole route with a sensible buffer. A cheaper vehicle can become more expensive if its allowance does not fit the journey.
Fuel, tolls, parking and penalties are separate from extra kilometres unless stated otherwise.
